In the previous post, I mentioned: Tom Hopkins with Sales of Champions, James R. Alburger the Voiceover coach, and Darren LaCroix, the Toastmaster 2001 World Champion Speaker. You'll find resources for their material on the left side of this page. Two other blogs which speak of performance anxiety are: Sandra Zimmers "Speaking Freely": http://www.self-expression.com/speaking-freely/what-happens-in-stage-fright-and-fear-of-pubic-speaking/ and Stage Fright Help: http://stagefrighthelp.com/2008/05/what-are-symptoms-of-performance.html . I enjoyed the blog "Public Speaking Skills- Important or Essential". Today people speak publically more than they know. I think that was a great article, it helped me realize how important educating my speaking skills is to my future success. I will continue to work on volunteering for speaking opportunities as I see available. I cannot be successful without a little practice.

  2. Hello Ter!

Thanks for sharing my blog Speaking Freely with your readers! For over 20 years, I have worked with the issues of stage fright and fear of public speaking. Because they were such problems for me, I am grateful to be able to share my discoveries to help others who are struggling with them.

    Warmly,

  3. I have enjoyed reading these articles and they gave me a lot of insight to what my career holds for me in the future. I will use the tips and tricks I have learned throughout the course of this quarter and apply them to my future career, I will continue to work on my good speech habits and regularaly practice with friends and family before I perform in front of larger audiences. I will remember that the audience does not have a script of what i'm about to speak about and remember to just let it flow.

  4. The blogs have helped me get a better understanding of where nerves come from when public speaking and ways to deal with them. They also help with understanding how to be a better more confident public speaker.

  5. We are now at the end of our Journey in Communication, the articles I have read during this coarse have give me valuable information and resources to fall back on. Body language, how you relate to cultures etc. A lot to take in but so much to hold on to.
    Many thanks

  8. Ter,
Thank You for all your insightful information within these blog posts. I will use everything I learned taking your course in both my business career and my cub scout career. Next year I will be Cub Master, which requires alot of speaking to large crowds, and everything I have learned will help!

  9. Here is my post for Speaking Freely by Sandra Zimmer. When clicking on her "Add a comment" button, the page opens up to an error that says page is no longer active. I like her comment that "Stage freight is not something to control. It is an energy flow form your soul that you have to learn to ride." I agree that you need to learn how to balance out your energy rather than try to control it. I got Sandra Zimmers link from Ter Scott at http://instantpublicspeaker.blogspot.com/
