In Public Speaking, Practice Does not Make Perfect


Practice does not make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect.
 
To become better at anything, seek what is “perfect” and work to attain that. One can practice and practice and practice but be practicing all the wrong things thereby continuing doing the same thing, ingraining bad habits further and not moving ahead. Solutions would include hiring a coach, having others listen to you, and listening and watching great speakers. The Internet has brought great speakers as close to you as your computer. Choose a few good speakers, choose to schedule time to get educated, and choose to do the work.
